Wati pricing in 2026: what you actually pay
Wati pricing explained: plan prices, per-message fees after the 1 October 2026 change, add-ons, and when the Business plan pays for itself.
Key takeaways
- Wati plans cost $69, $149 or $349 a month in the US ($59, $119, $279 billed annually).
- Message fees are charged on top and are usually the bigger bill: 71% of the example below.
- Since 1 October 2026, service replies and in-window utility messages are charged again.
- The Business plan only pays for itself above roughly 44,000 US marketing messages a month.
Wati charges you twice. First a monthly plan: $69, $149 or $349 a month in the US. Then a fee for almost every WhatsApp message you send, which depends on the recipient's country, the type of message and your plan. For any brand that sends regularly, the message fees are the bigger bill. And since 1 October 2026 they cover more messages than before.
Everything below is taken from Wati's own pricing data and rate cards, checked on 2 October 2026.
What changed on 1 October 2026 #
Until last month, replies to a customer who had messaged you were free for 24 hours, and so were order updates sent inside that window. That is no longer the case on Wati:
- Service messages (your free-form replies) are now charged per message, after the first 1,000 free each month.
- Utility templates sent inside the 24-hour window are charged again, at the normal utility rate.
- Conversations that start from a click-to-WhatsApp ad are still free.
If your support team handles a lot of WhatsApp conversations, budget for it now. Most pricing guides you will find were written before this change.
Wati plan prices by region #
Wati prices the same plans differently depending on where you sign up. These are the prices its pricing data returns for US and UK visitors.
| Plan | US, monthly | US, billed annually | UK, monthly | UK, billed annually |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | $69/mo | $59/mo ($708/yr) | £59/mo | £49/mo (£588/yr) |
| Pro | $149/mo | $119/mo ($1,428/yr) | £129/mo | £99/mo (£1,188/yr) |
| Business | $349/mo | $279/mo ($3,348/yr) | £289/mo | £229/mo (£2,748/yr) |
Source: Wati's public pricing data, checked 2 October 2026. Quarterly billing costs the same per month as monthly billing. Other regions, including India, have their own local-currency prices that are considerably lower.
Paying annually saves about 14% on Growth and 20% on Pro and Business. Take it once you know Wati is staying in your stack, not before: the free trial is only 7 days.
What each plan is for
- Growth includes 3 users (no extra seats) and 2 integrations. It suits a small team sending broadcasts and running a basic chatbot.
- Pro includes 5 users, unlimited broadcasts and 5 integrations including HubSpot. This is where most growing brands land.
- Business includes 5 users, unlimited integrations including Salesforce, multiple WhatsApp numbers, a far higher API allowance and lower per-message rates.
Per-message fees #
Wati bills messages per message, by category and by the country code of the person receiving them. Its rate card in effect from 1 October 2026 lists these prices for Growth and Pro customers:
| Recipient country | Marketing | Utility | Authentication | Service |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| United States | $0.0400 | $0.0061 | $0.0061 | $0.0041 |
| United Kingdom | $0.1016 | $0.0396 | $0.0396 | $0.0264 |
| Germany | $0.2184 | $0.0990 | $0.0990 | $0.0660 |
| UAE | $0.0922 | $0.0283 | $0.0283 | $0.0188 |
| Saudi Arabia | $0.0922 | $0.0193 | $0.0193 | $0.0128 |
| Singapore | $0.1171 | $0.0288 | $0.0288 | $0.0192 |
| Brazil | $0.1000 | $0.0122 | $0.0122 | $0.0082 |
| Mexico | $0.0635 | $0.0153 | $0.0153 | $0.0102 |
| Indonesia | $0.0658 | $0.0450 | $0.0450 | $0.0300 |
| India | $0.0189 | $0.0025 | $0.0025 | $0.0017 |

Two things stand out. A marketing message costs several times more than a utility message in almost every market (6.6 times in the US, 8 times in Brazil), so the mix of what you send matters more than the plan you choose. And the same message costs very different amounts by country: a marketing message to Germany costs more than five times one to the US.
Business plan customers pay less per message. Wati's Business rate card is about 11% lower across the board: $0.0355 per US marketing message instead of $0.0400.
A worked example
A US brand on the Pro plan, billed monthly, messaging US customers:
| Line | Calculation | Monthly cost |
|---|---|---|
| Wati Pro plan | Monthly billing | $149.00 |
| Marketing messages | 8,000 × $0.0400 | $320.00 |
| Utility messages (order and delivery updates) | 6,000 × $0.0061 | $36.60 |
| Service replies | 3,000 replies, first 1,000 free: 2,000 × $0.0041 | $8.20 |
| Total | $513.80 |
Illustrative volumes, not a client's figures. Rates from Wati's 1 October 2026 rate card.
The plan is $149 of a $514 bill. Messages are the other 71%, and almost all of that is marketing.
Add-ons #
These are priced separately from the plan, in US dollars, per month unless stated:
| Add-on | Price | Who needs it |
|---|---|---|
| Extra users | Pro and Business only; see Wati's pricing page | Teams with more agents than the plan includes |
| Extra WhatsApp number | $29 per number | Separate numbers for sales and support, or several brands |
| Chatbot sessions | $40 per extra 1,000 | Bots that run past the plan's monthly allowance |
| AI Copilot credits | $30 per 1,000 | Agents using AI-drafted replies |
| AI KnowBot answers | $60 per 1,000 | Letting AI answer customers automatically |
| Shopify integration | $4.99 | Shopify stores |

What the pricing page doesn't tell you #
Your per-message rate depends on your plan. Growth and Pro share one rate card; Business gets a cheaper one. The pricing page mentions a Business discount but not its size. It is about 11%.
The Business plan only pays for itself at volume. Business costs $200 a month more than Pro, billed monthly. On US marketing messages it saves $0.0045 each. That breaks even at roughly 44,000 marketing messages a month. Below that, Pro is cheaper even before you count the seats.
Message costs grow with your list; the plan doesn't. Double the customers you message and you roughly double the bill, while the plan fee stays flat.
AI is metered. Plans include some AI credits, then charge per 1,000. If a bot will answer most customer questions, model that cost before you switch it on.
Is there a free plan? #
No. Growth, Pro and Business each come with a 7-day free trial. In some regions Wati also sells a low-cost single-user starter pack with prepaid message credits, which is fine for testing but not for running a team. Message fees apply from your first template message, trial or not.
Which plan, and how to keep the bill down #
Start on Growth if up to 3 people handle WhatsApp and you mostly send broadcasts. Move to Pro when you need HubSpot, more users or unlimited broadcasts. Only take Business for Salesforce, several numbers, heavy API use, or more than about 44,000 marketing messages a month. Most brands overestimate the plan they need and underestimate the message bill.
The bigger savings are in what you send:
- Stop broadcasting to people who never read. Segment by recency and engagement. A marketing message to a customer who hasn't opened one in six months costs the same as one to your best customer, and earns nothing.
- Acquire through click-to-WhatsApp ads. Conversations that start from one are free, which makes them the cheapest way to open a new thread.
- Watch your 1,000 free service messages. Since 1 October, a busy support inbox on WhatsApp has a running cost. Track service volume monthly so it doesn't surprise you.
- Send utility updates for what they are. Order and delivery updates are utility messages at a fraction of the marketing rate. Keep promotions out of them: Meta re-categorises templates that mix the two, and charges the marketing rate.
Wati is not the right tool for everyone. If you send a few dozen messages a week, the free WhatsApp Business app may be enough. If your team works across many channels and WhatsApp is only one of them, compare Wati with omnichannel inboxes before committing.
