ERP and CRM by industry

The platform question is downstream of the sector question. A manufacturer and a real estate developer can look similar on paper and need almost nothing in common from their systems.

Why sector comes before software

Most ERP and CRM selection starts with a feature comparison. It is the wrong order. Feature lists converge — every mainstream platform will tell you it does inventory, or pipelines, or reporting — and the differences that actually decide a project are rarely on them.

A manufacturer's system has to model a bill of materials that changes over time and schedule production against real capacity. A property developer's has to stop two salespeople selling the same unit and then run a payment schedule for the next three years. Both are described as "inventory" in a feature matrix. Neither is the same problem, and a platform that handles one well may be genuinely unable to handle the other.

What we look at first

What your scarce resource is
Units, capacity, qualified attention or working capital. Whatever is genuinely constrained is what the system has to protect, and it differs completely by sector.
Where the process continues after the sale
In some sectors a closed deal is the end. In others it is the start of years of collection, service or compliance. Software built for the first is a poor fit for the second.
What regulation forces you to prove
Batch traceability in pharma, RERA reporting for Indian developers, statutory audit trails in manufacturing. These are not features to compare — they are constraints that disqualify platforms outright.
Whether a specialist product already exists
Some sectors are well enough served by vertical software that a configured general platform cannot compete on cost or time. We will tell you when that is the case, including when it means we do not get the project.

If your sector is not listed above, the questions are the same. A scoping call is the fastest way to work through them.
